And this will be an episode where we'll have some video extras on the YouTube channel to showcase our pet oils and some educational resources available for our CBD pet oils. And as I mentioned in the introduction, our CBD pet oil is specially designed for your furry friends. It's available now in two convenient potencies, 250 milligrams or 1000 milligrams. We'll talk about that. We'll also talk about our specially formulated oil for your feline friends, and that is our salmon oil for cats in our Perfect Paws line. I will be 100% honest, and if you've listened to the podcast before, you know I do not own any pets, but my guests often do when we talk pet products. Here to help me go through all the details is our Research and Development specialist, Sara Brown, our Perfect Paws Hemp sales associates, Stephen Tucker. Welcome you both back to the podcast.

Stephen: Thank you, Joe.

Sara: Happy to be here.

Joe: First off, CBD pet oil, you know, and for our customers who have taken part in CBD products as part of their daily regimen and routine for their overall health and wellness, they're used to our CBD oil products that can be added to food or beverages. When we talk about pet oils, what are some of the wellness benefits that CBD pet oil may encourage?

Stephen: You know, we found through just consumer feedback and then also using the products, relaxation, calming the pet down. So, you know, 4th of July is right around the corner, right? So, you know, dogs, cats, even birds, are all nervous when they hear fireworks. So, it's really beneficial for the consumers to give that to their pets, you know, ahead of time to help calm down the pet before that happens.

Joe: And when we talk about pet oils now, in the human grade oils, we have flavors such as chocolate mint, peppermint, acai berry, orange creamsicle, watermelon, natural hemp, but pet oils, we have for the regular pet oils, and when I say regular and we'll get to the cat one also here, chicken and beef are the primary flavors, correct, for the pet oils?

Sara: Correct.

Stephen: Correct.

Joe: And then the cat oil salmon. So let's break it down. Where do we come up...I mean, obviously, when we talk about the human oils, it's easy to come up with flavors, you have taste tests and the whole process. How do we come up with flavors when it comes to pet products?

Sara: I mean, we check out the marketplace and see what other people are doing and see what's popular out there. And we come up with some ideas and bring them in and get some samples from people, try them out on our own pets. I've used my dogs several times as some, you know, taste-testers before to see what they like. You know, I think of other a couple of employees have tried that on their own pets as well. And just trying to see which flavors, you know, really work well for, you know, different types of animals.

Joe: So, and this is where some of the video extras if you're watching on our YouTube channel come into effect, but we have our chicken flavor. And we should mention the 250-milligram and the 1000-milligram pet oils are available also on the Hemp Bombs line, they just came out, chicken and beef flavor. The Perfect Paws line, which is our pet specific line, we're talking chicken and beef in the...and these are both 250 milligrams. They're also available in 1000. And then this is not only specially formulated for cats, but also to the Perfect Paws line is our salmon oil for cats. So, when we talk about the pet oil, how does this...obviously the flavor is one but how does the salmon oil differ than the pet oil?

Sara: So, the salmon oil uses a different carrier oil instead of the MCT and grape seed, it's using some corn oil and salmon oil in there, which are really high in omega-3 and 6. So, fatty acids. So, they're used as a nutritional benefit for cats and dogs as well. You can use it as for dogs as well. It is specified for cats, but it is beneficial for dogs and cats.

Joe: And so, that's an interesting point because the regular pet oils, can you use that for dogs and cats or would you...?

Sara: Yeah. All of them can be both used for dogs and cats. I mean, that is a little bit more specified toward cats. The nutrition blend is specifically, I mean, formulated for cats. It will not harm a dog, but it is made to help increase the nutritional value for a cat.

Joe: And what are some of the common ingredients that owners would find in our pet oils, if they're wondering what is it exactly am I giving to my pet?

Sara: Right. The beef and the chicken have MCT and grape seed oil in them, which are just some inert and healthy oils that are non-harmful to pets and you know, of all kinds. And then the salmon oil has salmon oil in it, as well as the corn oil and MCT.

Joe: And then a couple...a lot of the questions we seem to get all the time and we'll talk now, we'll move into the education. First, for those who have not gotten into the pet CBD game for their pets, you know, what are some of the educational resources available for folks looking for more information?

Stephen: Yeah. That's a good question. You know, a lot of things that we do here is education. You know, we want to make sure that the consumer is highly educated in all our products. So, it's not just sitting on the shelf and say, "Here, go buy it." Right? So, on the back of all of our packaging, we have one of the QR codes. One of those QR codes will lead you to the full panel testing, which will tell you that our products are 100% completely safe to give to the pet. So, it tests against heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins, things like that. And then they also, the other QR code is for scanning to find out the weight of your pet. So, it tells you how much to dose. So, you know, a lot of the questions I get when I'm out in the field is, "Hey, my dog's 10 pounds. How much do I give them?" So, I turn the bottle around, I show them, you know, scan the QR code with your phone. It'll bring you to our website. And then it'll tell you how you can plug in the weight of your pet and that'll tell you how much to give them.

Joe: And for those on the YouTube channel, I'm just turning around a couple of our bottles so you can see both of the QR codes. And if you're not watching on our YouTube channel, you can also visit the website at perfectpawshemp.com and the dosage calculator will be right on that website. And that's a calculator that, [inaudible 00:07:46], it's been a while since I've been...you think the host would go back and just double-check, but it's the weight of the dog, correct, and the milligrams you're using, and then it'll give you a suggested dosage of drops.

Sara: Right.

Stephen: That is correct.

Joe: See?

Stephen: And so, the other things that we've also created too are the CBD 101 guides. So, these are great for people that are just getting in CBD. They really don't know a whole lot about it. If you go online, there's all kinds of information. Some of it's wrong, some of it's correct. But as a manufacturer of CBD, we kind of know how to point people in the right direction. So, we come up with these different pamphlets of such to help the consumers.

Joe: And you can get that right from the QR code on the back of the product. Or also, as I mentioned before, visiting perfectpawshemp.com. So, 250 milligrams and 1000 milligrams, when we talk about milligrams, that's just the amount of CBD that's in the bottle, correct?

Stephen: Correct.

Sara: Correct.

Joe: Does the dosage calculator at all, is there any difference between dosage between the cat and the dog? I mean, obviously, I can imagine cats don't weigh as much as some dogs do. So, for cat owners, does the cat oil differ at all on the dosage?

Stephen: Well, cats typically fall within a range of say 10 to 15 pounds, right? Whereas dogs, you can have a dog that's 5 pounds, you can have a dog that's 180 pounds. That's kind of why we have a small 250-milligram and then 1000-milligram for those larger dogs. When you're looking specifically at our cat oil, it's a 200-milligram bottle. So, it makes it a little bit easier for the consumer to kind of figure out how to dose their cat because, you know, again, their cats range between, I would say 10 to 15 pounds. There are some big cats out there I've seen around 18 to 20 pounds, but that 200-milligram bottle would be sufficient enough to help dose their cat.

Joe: When we talk about our regular CBD oils on the human side, mixing with food and drink. So, for pet owners who have not yet gone into the CBD oil game for their pets, how would one use this as part of their pet's dietary daily needs?

Sara: I have an arthritic dog at home and I found the easiest way for him to consume it is to just put it in his food. That it's hard to get, you know, a dropper inside his mouth to squirt it in there. Most dogs, cats usually put up a fight when you're trying to force something into their mouths. So, either you can drop a few drops on a treat, give it to them that way, cats, you can give it to them in you know, a little bit, you know, treats, food, the same thing. Wet food is the best way that I have found to be able to give it to my dogs.

Stephen: I've also mentioned in previous episodes, my dog, Jack, extremely finicky, he's a little 8-pound mix, you know, the best way I've found for him because as soon as I break that bottle out, he runs. And he does it with anything because he knows you're give him something that he probably doesn't want. So, what I've done is I just pick him up, I put the drops in the palm of my hand, I touch his nose to it. And as soon as it touches his nose, it kind of forces him to lick his nose. And then once he licks it, he's like, "That stuff's pretty good." Right? So, he starts drinking, eats the rest of it. And you know, that's the most direct way to give it to them. But again, you know, as Sara mentioned, there's all different ways you can do it.

Joe: Anything else on the pet oil side we didn't cover? Obviously, Stephen, in addition to consumers ordering directly from perfectpawshemp.com on the website, you can also...

Stephen: Yeah. The retailers. They can order through our distributor partner, Central Pet. You can go on their website or use your local rep to purchase through there as well.

Joe: And I'm sure maybe perhaps some new and exciting pet products coming up in the near future?

Stephen: I don't know.

Joe: Sara, I don't know, anything?

Sara: Maybe. Possibly. Got some stuff in the pipeline possibly going on.
